Calmy was an accommodated Art tour within the David Owsley Museum of Art located on Ball State University's campus. Its creation was to ease common stressors to those with cognitive disabilities, such as bright lighting, music, overbearing textures or colors. The artists featured in this exhibit struggle with cognitive disabilities, as well as share their perspective on life during their artist talk. These disabilities ranged from epilepsy, A.D.H.D, dementia, dyslexia, as well as autism spectrum disorder.
Mockups of printed mailer
All elements created in Adobe Illustrator. My idea for the whole aesthetic of the mailer/logo/advertising was to look similar to a worn, used up notebook and child-like doodles that you may find. Our brains may sometimes feel like a full notebook- full of dog eared pages and sticky notes to give us daily reminders. Those living with cognitive disabilities may have their notebooks structured differently than one another.

By having a lighter and "calmer" color palette, guests were able to focus more on the art in front of them rather than being distracted by normally gaudy colors (red, yellow, green)
Infographic posters were placed in North Quad, as well as the Art & Journalism building. Those placed outside were made of biodegradable flower-seed paper. Once the event ended, the infographics were collected and given to the campus greenhouse to plant.
